The most important thing to keep in mind when mixing prints and patterns is that, it's more about matching colours to get it right. If the colours compliment each other, the prints will usually look great together.  Make sure to keep one print simple while the other can be slightly more dramatic or graphic. We've stuck by this rule by choosing that simple patterned bralette and paired it with the slightly more dramatic floral kimono.

As much as we like pairing and mixing prints, print on print on print would just be a little too much. So, break up the look with at least one solid piece like we have. The plain high waisted shorts help calm things down and make it wearable.

Let's get mixing!

A lot of people always ask about my make-up and if I have any on etc. I'd hesitated posting about any of it because I'm not a huge make-up person and I never really experiment much. But I do have a basic routine that I always follow. So, I thought I'll start with the basics.

These are the products that I've been using to create a clean and even base. So, here you go:

Bobbi Brown
Hydrating Gel Cream
This is a water based gel-cream that really hydrates and moisturises the skin without leaving it oily. My skin's more on the oily side and that's why I really like this product and would definitely recommend it to everyone!

M.A.C
Select Moisture Cover Concealer (NC 42)
Almost all of us need a great concealer to cover up those blemishes or any dark spots on our face. Unlike most concealers that can be drying, this one by MAC is very blendable and moisturizing. I've repurchased this product a few times now because it just works well for me. But, if you're looking for some heavy coverage this isn't the product for you.

M.A.C
Mineralize Foundation (NC 40)
This is the only product that I've been using everyday that I wouldn't repurchase. Just because it's not for my skin type and the artist at the mac store didn't let me know it can be a little oily. It would be perfect for people with dry skin though. I've still been using it everyday because I really like the light to medium coverage. But, to eliminate the extra shine I've always got to finish it out with some powder. So, I'll just be using it till I finish it up.

Make Up Forever
Aqua Matic
I've been using a tiny bit of the shade ME-54 on the inner corners to just brighten up my eye area on days when I feel like I don't look too awake. It's the perfect shade for that. The awesome part about it though, is that it can be used as a highlighter anywhere else as well.

I've always loved black and white paired together. Add some gold heels and jewellery and that's everything I love in one look to be honest!

Vertical stripes are great for nearly every body type because they can elongate your body. They're easier to wear and a lot more flattering than horizontal stripes, especially if you're wider on the hip. If you're bold enough, you could mix up different prints and stripes. But, I was in the mood to keep it simple with added depth and sophistication. That's why I paired it with this gorgeous black floral cut out top to add more dimension and a fitted black blazer. To make it even more interesting I added the newspaper print John Galliano scarf to give the look some more character!

Hope all of you like this look and have had a wonderful weekend!

Here's look 3 of our 'How to style denim shorts' series and it's all about that long cardigan. I love this reinvented style of our classic cardigans. You can opt for a chunky long knit for a more bohemian style during cooler days. Or for a light weight fabric like this one for those slightly warmer days. Again, choose your fabrics depending on where you live. This works best for our Dubai weather. Anything chunkier and we'd be boiling.

When it comes to styling the long cardigan make sure you wear it with a fitted bottom.  I personally think they look best paired with something shorter on the bottom. But, if you want to cover up those legs this could look good with some tight jeans or leggings. Also, pairing it with some high heels can pull the whole look together making you look uber chic!

It's entirely up to you and how you want to style it. You could do the whole boho look or you could go with the chic and effortless almost model off duty look by keeping it quite sleek and simple. I'm in love with the long cardigan and I'm hoping you'll fall in love with it too!

Nothing screams summer louder than a bright floral print romper! They give you a great sense of playfulness without the commitment to a mini dress. Especially when you live in a desert like Dubai or anywhere where it warm and sticky.

Wearing a romper is the best way to stand out in a sea of long flowy sundresses. You can even throw something like this on over your bathing suit and go from beach to brunch.

They come in so many different prints, colours and fits so you can find the perfect one for the beach, a nice lunch or even a night out! Go find yourself that perfect summer staple.

Since I'm quite petite I usually have to opt for a sleek column fit skirt and nothing too voluminous. Being at the beach, pairing that black side slit skirt with something bright and bold was a must. I opted for a bandeau because they're perfect for the beach and are super easy to get in and out of if you've got your swimsuit under.

If you're ever in the mood to show some leg and a mini just isn't going to work for you a long or even midi length slit skirt can be a great alternative. I love, love how feminine and effortlessly sexy slits can look. Be it night or day, slit in the front or the back these skirts are a must have if you've got some killer legs to show off!

Like the Bohemian look we posted a while back featuring those gorgeous headpieces from Bandar Sarali, we decided to give the usual necklaces or earrings a rest again. This look is all about that scarf and simple headpiece.

So, here's a little breakdown of our second look for the 'how to style denim shorts' series.
The easiest way to wear your denim shorts is to pair it with a tank top, some sandals and you're good to go. But, we wanted to create a slightly boho chic look, so we decided to pair it with this gorgeous silk scarf, a simple gold head chain and a pair of black Louboutins. We also paired it with the grey Fendi bag so the scarf and all those colours remain the focus. If you've been wanting to try out head pieces but aren't sure if they'll suit you, opt for something simple like this instead of statement piece.

So, this isn't my go to look because of two things: The first being my hair being up in a ponytail and the second being the shirt around the waist. But, it's always about trying different things and I quite liked the look and would definitely sport it again. That's why I wanted to share this look with all of you!

This trend from the 90's has been back for a while now. You could stick to the classic and most common way to pulling off the shirt-wrap look by tying it around your jeans. Or, now that it's warm tie it around a lose dress like we have. We wanted to keep the look quite clean and simple so we stuck to some statements rings and a bright lip to add some depth to the look. You can change the entire look up and make it more casual by switching to some flats or boots. Plaid flannel shirts were all the rage then but there's no harm in switching it up a bit with denim right?

Would you experiment with this look a little? I hope so you will.

These denim shorts are by far my favourite piece in my closet! You can wear denim shorts if your style's completely casual and laid-back or chic and polished. Depending on how comfortable you are you can pick a pair that's short like mine or ones that are longer as well. That's why this wardrobe basic is a staple and can be styled any way you'd like.

I'm going to show you multiple ways to style these denim shorts of mine. Here I've decided to dress it up with this flowy kimono and a pair of Louboutin's. If you're not in the mood to wear heels you could pair it with some nice stroppy sandals instead. Be sure to pair it with some statement jewellery like I have from Vajor to glam it up more if you'd like.

No matter what your style, your shape or your budget may be shorts are for everyone in the spring and summer (And the winter too depending on where you live) there are so many different styles, prints and textures to fit every body type!

So, let's be honest: Black's the go to colour for almost everyone (or mostly just me). I often ignore bright orange's or greens. But, I always tell everyone I love all things colourful but I can hardly get myself to wear a lot of colour. I simply prefer black and neural colours on me. But off late I've been trying to incorporate more colour in my outfits.

I've come to realize that most people stick to neutral tones because they're scared they might pair the wrong colours together and get the styling all wrong and end up looking hideous. Stop being terrified! You can pair a lot more colours together than you think.

I wanted to go for something bold and daring so Deepa paired these colours together. I love, love all these together. So modern and bold. Remember, adding colour to your wardrobe is one of the best ways to refresh it. So, head on out and go get yourself so much need colour!

Hope you guy like the look!

Wearing bright colours is a great way to brighten up a dull day. I love this shade of green and the structure of that skirt. Do you wear brighter clothes when you're feeling dull and want to brighten up your day?
Also, remember that pairing red and green isn't just for the holidays. If it's paired together in a more sophisticated and fashionable way it works all year round.

Hope all of you've been having a good weekend!
