This gorgeous map print silk dress by Carven is the perfect shirt dress! It's such a lightweight dress and feels beautiful on. I love the knotted front detail on it and the fact that it has pockets. Who doesn't love a dress with unexpected pockets, right? I know it's November but the sun's still shining just as bright in Bangalore and that's why I had to have these reflective sunglasses with orange/yellow mirrored lenses on. Sometimes I think they're a bit much but I still love them! That for me is reason enough to put them on.
Like my coral skort look that I'd posted, I wanted the attention to remain on the dress so I paired it with these nude Zara pumps and this classic Salvatore Ferragamo bag.

Because I love all things black and white I'd have instinctively paired this black and white stripe skirt with a white or black top. But, the sister suggested I pair it with the denim shirt and I'm so glad she did. Because I love how the whole look turned out.
You can treat a skirt like this pretty much like a solid black or white skirt and pair it with any colour you'd like. It would look just as good! Since I paired it with a light washed denim shirt I wanted to add a pop of colour and that's exactly what theses reflective sunglasses and this Marc Jacobs clutch, from Crisp, do. It's that little bit of colour that pulls the outfit together and gives it that happy edgy vibe.
Hope all of you've had a good start to your week!

We're nearing the end of 2014 but I still love me some Skort! The Skort was reinvented and became the perfect piece where comfort meets style and that's why it was such a hit. All thanks to Zara actually. When they were all over the place in 2013 I didn't catch on to the trend because I thought it was too uniform then. But I'm completely in love with it now and don't care whether or not it's still as trendy.

I just love, love the sharp architectural shape it's got. Makes the outfit look more sophisticated and still a little cool.  I paired it with this cut out lace top and the over sized watercolour Steffano clutch to add more dimension to the look. Kept the heels neutral so the top half remains the focus.

Style Refinery by Divya Maben - How to wear a scarf

Have you ever thought about or tried on a scarf but never ended up making that purchase? If so, now's the time to go get yourself one! Scarves are manly, easy to wear, functional and fashionable. I personally think they are a gateway to better dressing.

The simplest way to wear a scarf it is to hang it around your neck. Worn that way it simply looks classy and effortless. To make the scarf stand out I styled it with a light neutral sweater (jumper) and white pants! It's all about keeping it simple when wearing something that's a little out of your comfort zone.

When I see a man in a scarf it tells me he's confident, cares about the way he looks and isn't looking to simply fit in. Those are incredibly attractive qualities that most women are drawn to. All the more reason to go pick up that scarf!

I particularly loved this Pal Zileri Sartoriale scarf from Crisp, Bangalore. I've only ever seen a fairly decent collection of scarves at Zara and was super excited when I saw some really nice designer men's scarves at their store.

But, remember confidence is everything and that has to show through to pull of this trend!

Denim and White - basic, classic, timeless and essential! Rather than sticking to a white shirt and denims, we've switched it up here!

Pairing an acid-wash denim shirt with white pants is a combination that anyone could pull off effortlessly because white really is the greatest neutrals of them all. Always remember, when pairing jeans with loafers, they have to be slim through the leg and the hem folded a little (if need be) to avoid looking sloppy.  People tend to wear white more in the summer, but I personally think that they are very autumn/winter appropriate too and can be worn all year round.

I choose to accessorize his look with some bracelets, Prada aviators and a simple Gucci iPad case. He wanted to do something a little different as uses his iPad quite a bit, so this Gucci case from Crisp was the perfect fit.

A man in white jeans (a well fitted pair) exudes confidence! So, I'm hoping this encourages you to go pick up a pair of white jeans because it really is a very versatile and daring piece of clothing to have in your wardrobe.

(To find the perfect pair of white pants we went to Crisp, Bangalore. They've got a bunch of designers you wouldn't find anywhere else in the city! Like Gucci, which still hasn't setup shop at UB city, sadly.)

I've always loved army green paired with black. You simply can't go wrong with this combination and it's the perfect pairing for fall and for the weather in Bangalore. I picked up this jacket at H&M in Canada and have had it for a while now and like it just as much as I did when I first picked it up. Some days I just don't feel like accessorizing too much and this was one of those days. So, Ive just paired it with a custom made dainty gold chain and the gold MK watch. Also, the top's supposed to be crushed and look that way. It's not me being lazy and not ironing my clothes! (In case anyone was wondering.)
(As soon as we saw that brick wall we couldn't help but quickly take a few photos!)
Hope you guys like this super simple fall look.

High Heels Make You Feel Sexy

Who wouldn't want that feeling! Slipping into a pair of heels truly is something else. It makes you feel and look incredible. Your stance changes, your body language changes (Until it starts to hurt, lets be honest.) I'd deal with painful sky-high heels because I love the way I feel in them. That to me is the most important thing.

________________________

High Heels Make You (ME) Look Taller

This is the solution for all the vertically challenged and I'd say Petite women (Because I'm quite petite). I'm only 5'4" so the extra 4" doesn't hurt! I'm not complaining about my height because being 5'4" allows me to put on a pair of heels and not look tall and lanky. So all you shorter women don't feel bad about not being super tall instead embrace it because you're the one benefiting here.

High Heels Can Pull together An Outfit

Pair it with any outfit and you've instantly added a feminine touch and dressed it up. You could be wearing a simple t-shirt with jeans and once you pair it with heels you surely won't feel the same. Only once you try it you would know how much of a difference it can make to the outfit without much of an effort.

High heels aren't expensive

You can spend a few thousand dollars on a pair of Louboitins or you can spend around $50 or say 3000 on a decent pair. It's affordable and accessible!

I decided to give the LBD in my wardrobe some rest and got myself a black jumpsuit instead! They're a much edgier alternative and I just couldn't resist . Also, I'm in love with the backless detail on this one from ASOS because it takes the look from basic to chic. But, if you're not very comfortable showing too much of that back throw on a scarf like I have and you will be fall ready as well.  If you've been looking for one and haven't found one yet, look at KOOVS, Elifity or even Forever 21

Thigh high slits can be tricky to pull off  and these days these "modest" hemlines have become more popular. A strategically placed high slit like the one in this Zara skirt is the perfect for showing of some skin without going all out. So, high slit skirts or dresses aren't too hard to pull of if you just know what you're doing. Don't be afraid to try it!
